Buyer verification (KYC/KYB)

Every business buyer goes through the same ten checks, handled entirely by Novatrade24. You don't lift a finger. Private buyers and companies outside the vehicle trade are verified too, with the checks that apply to them.

  • The company

    • Company registration: the buyer is a registered, active company.
    • Business address: the company operates from a real location suitable for vehicle trade. If it's registered at a private home, we verify the actual dealership or storage site and its link to the company.
    • Online presence: a real, consistent footprint online (website, listings, social media).

  • The people

    • Ultimate beneficial owner (UBO): who really owns and controls the company.
    • Live ID check: the person acting is who they claim to be, not just a copied passport.
    • Power of attorney: anyone acting for the company is actually authorized to.
    • Sanctions & PEP screening: owners and representatives are checked against sanctions lists and politically exposed persons.

  • The transaction

    • EU VAT number: checked at several points during each transaction and re-checked weekly, so a number that's withdrawn mid-deal doesn't slip through.
    • Bank account: the payment comes from an account in the buyer company's name, not from a third party.
    • Payment and VAT patterns: unusual patterns in the deal or the chain are flagged before you close.

Network insights

Every check draws on anonymized insights from the whole Novatrade24 network. When a buyer raises a red flag with one seller, every other seller benefits, and the network gets smarter with every deal.

Buyers with a Novatrade24 ID are already verified, so the check is instant. New buyers are verified in under 24 hours once their documents are in.

The audit-ready export file

When you apply the 0% VAT rate on an intra-EU sale, you have to be able to show who your buyer was and that the vehicle actually left the country (Art. 138 EU VAT Directive, Art. 45a Implementing Regulation (EU) No 282/2011). The buyer side is done for you. For the transaction, you add the documents along the way, by upload or automatically via API:

  6. Final invoice

How long does buyer verification take?

Under 24 hours once the buyer's documents are in. Buyers with a Novatrade24 ID are verified instantly.

What do I still have to do myself?

Add the transaction documents (order, payment, transport, delivery, invoice) by upload or via API. Everything else, from buyer verification to the finished export file, is done for you.

Do I need an integration?

No. A Click2Comply link is enough to start. If you want to automate, you can connect via API.

Who pays?

You pay €49 per exported vehicle, or pass the cost on to your buyer, who then pays €69. For high volumes, we offer subscription plans.

What happens if a buyer doesn't pass?

You see the red flag before the deal closes. The decision stays with you.
